About The Karguy

I always knew I was going to be in the car business. I have always liked cars. My first toys were cars. I began my career in the car business when I was 14, pumping gas at a gas station during the OPEC oil embargo of 1974. After high school, I attended a Technical College and received a Degree in Automotive Technologies (elaborate term for auto mechanics), and more time in Diesel College, and then a few more years in college (Computer Science & Business Administration), and finally a few years working for a software development company, I have always been in the car business. I have worked as a Technician, Service Manager, Fixed Operations Director, Sales Rep for shop equipment, Owned a Collision Shop (and then managed a very successful one for a car dealer), and until recently I managed all the information systems, ecommerce, and advertising for a dealership Group in Southside Virginia. Since about the second or third day in southwest Virginia, I had planned someday to move back to the coast in a warmer climate. I finally landed in Charleston, SC working at a Hendrick Dealership.  I managed Technologies, marketing, and sales training for one of the best run dealerships in the Rick Hendrick Organization. I got my "Hendricks Champions" ring and as of 2008, I am back to Virginia to take a promotion at my previous employer. Long story.

I have owned many vehicles over the years and they are displayed below in order. Like with most "Karguys", each one marks a time in my life, and helps me keep the years straight in my mind. This list does not include 3 motorhome's, 6 powerboats, 4 travel trailers, 1 motorcycle, 3 mopeds,  and many vehicles that I bought to resell.
